For over 40 years Wendy has been an artist who has lived and worked in the Niagara Region.

She is a self taught artist who worked as the memorial designer at a local monument company where she created many creative monuments for dignitaries and local families. In 1989, she received a prestigious award from the Monument Builders of North America, (novice category) for best design. Early in her career she took many classes to improve her skills as an artist. As an emerging artist, Wendy received several awards (honorable mentions, 1st and 2nd place awards) at art shows for her drawings and watercolors. After taking a break to raise her family, she once again returned to her passion of painting.

 

During her free time, Wendy enjoys escaping outdoors to paint “plein air” with acrylic paints to capture the scenery most people over look. She enjoys challenging herself to continually improve and develop compositions with deeper meanings. In her most recent work Wendy connects unusual words to a visual representation.
